Baratines brings a fresh, young presence to the classic Sablon area. It is perfect for brunch or a relaxing drink on their (huge) backyard terrace!
Sablon is known for its more upscale joints and antique/furniture shopping, however, tucked away on a side street is Baratines with a fresh, modern, young feel. The brunch spot is full of interesting mixes of toasts, both sweet and savory, and a great selection of cocktails and beers.

The spot is easy to miss from the street, but once you enter, you feel like you’ve entered another cooler, hipper world in the middle of Sablon! Plants are hanging from the ceiling and cover the walls, and the back garden is surrounded with ivy walls (I think its ivy?).
Pros
- Cool atmosphere
- Great outdoor space
- Delicious brunch options
Cons
- Meh service

Most dining options in Sablon can be a bit old school/stuffy, but this is a great/modern option for brunch or an afternoon refresh!

I haven't been at 'Baratines' yet 🙁
