Edgar’s Flavors

Excellent cocktail bar with terrific service and a great atmosphere. The place to go if you want a quality drink and table service, tucked away just off Avenue Louise.

As a big margarita fan I have been on the hunt for a while for the best Margarita in Brussels (advice welcome!). I am pretty sure we have found it at Edgar’s Flavors. Their Frida’s Margarita (an all time best seller, classic and favourite) is simply wonderful – with a spicey/peppery addition to the salted rim. (For those looking for more margarita recs – check our guide to the best margarita’s in Brussels here.)

However, despite an amazing margarita, I had to branch out to try some of have tried the Hemingway (also delicious although I don’t recommend switching from Tequila to Rum so carelessly). The Hemingway – despite being on ice, makes for a cozy winter cocktail, perfect for this dimly lit, tucked away spot.

Luckily, to go with these amazing drinks, is an equally delicious food menu, with hearty portions to accompany your cocktail. We ended up way too into the Guacamole (ordering a few rounds, yummy!), going home feeling satisfied and full!

The atmosphere is intimate yet lively, on a Saturday evening it gets a little loud, but still maintains its parlour room alure. It is possible to reserve online, which we recommend, unless you are able to get there right at opening, as the place fills up fast – with good reason. There are about 15 small tables for 2 or 4 when put together, with a few high-tops near the entrance and of course seats at the bar.

As mentioned, it is an intimate spot, great for a date or to catch up with a friend, but tricky if the group gets bigger than 4, as the tables and chairs aren’t easily reconfigured and it can get a bit noisy.

Finally, Edgar’s Flavors has great service – if the well-made cocktails, atmosphere, and good food wasn’t enough to convince you of its quality; the service is the cherry on top. We were sitting in the farthest table from the bar, probably easy to miss, but the bartender frequently checked on us, refilling our complimentary waters and making sure all was in order. Love it!

Pros
  • Some of the best cocktails in Brussels
  • Great atmosphere
  • Good date spot
Cons
  • Can be a tad noisy
  • Space: reserve in advance if you can
