Le Kiosque – Bois de la Cambre

Le Kiosque – Bois de la Cambre is a hidden gem, but as soon as you find it, you’ll love this little café tucked away in the park between Avenue de Groenendael and Lac du bois de la Cambre.

Le Kiosque has plenty of seating – in the summer people bring their drinks to the grassy patch next store, and in the winter huddle around the rustic, yet charming wood fired stoves. No matter the time of year though, you can always find a group of bikers stopping for refreshment on their return from a ride in Foret de Soignes.

Admittedly, the service is spotty and a bit tricky to figure out at first – usually if you sit, there is table service, but you have to flag down the right server, as some only take orders, some only bus and some only administer the payment. But in the end the service is friendly and perfect for a coffee, soup, spritz, or croque monsieur, among other treats!

Le Kiosque is perfect for meeting friends, a day date, or taking advantage of Brussels long summer days. The jovial, yet relaxed environment makes up for the humble food and service, but still a great place to meet up.

(Compared to the neighboring Chalet Robinson, I’d take Le Kiosque any day! While Chalet Robinson has the novelty factor and little ferry, the poor service, high prices, and miserable service, makes the simplicity of Le Kiosk even more charming and enjoyable.)

Pros
  • Casual
  • Great place to meet people
  • Lot’s of people bringing their dogs!
  • Great in the summer and winter
Cons
  • Honestly – none…?

Mayyyybeee one of my favorite places in Brussels. Admittedly simple food, and not a great variety of drinks - you can't beat the location and atmosphere.

What's better than a walk in the park? A walk in the park and then great drinks and snacks at 'Le Kiosque'!
