Parvis de Saint Gilles
The Parvis de Saint-Gilles exudes a bohemian rhapsody that’s as enticing as it is unique. - Just around the corner from the Parvis square is Fight Club is a newish cafe in Saint-Gilles with cocktails and American style, sliced pizza!

Place Fernand Cocq
Place Fernand Cocq is a vibrant square located in the center of Brussels. Situated in the bustling neighborhood of Ixelles, this lively square is known for its energetic atmosphere and diverse array of cafes, bars, and restaurants. It serves as a popular meeting point for locals and visitors alike, offering a vibrant mix of cultural events, street performances, and lively outdoor terraces.
- Chez Ta Mere is one of our favorites in Place Fernand Cocq. Good cocktails and good selection of beer, its a good spot to either start or end the evening!
- Renard Bakery is one of the best in Brussels. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a delicious snack!
Chatelain
If you’re looking to dive into a chic and trendy atmosphere, Place du Châtelain is where Brussels’ fashionable set congregates. Place du Chatelain is between some of Brussels best shopping streets. Wednesdays are particularly lively when the after-work crowd flocks to the market to unwind. Boutique shops and stylish bars line the pavements, offering the perfect setting for an elegant evening of aperitifs and conversation while the gentle hum of jazz and indie music sets the tone.
- Le Stoefer is one of our favorite cocktail bars in town. Open late with a great selection of rotating drinks, its a staple to the neighborhood.
- Just off the square is Tatar, a casual, yet trendy place with modern European fair.
Place du Luxembourg
Place du Luxembourg, affectionately known as ‘Plux’, is where Brussels’ political heart beats in a more informal setting. Thursday nights are the unofficial gathering time for Eurocrats, interns, and expats, transforming the square into a hive of social interaction. The grand façade of the European Parliament overlooks the square, reminding you of the city’s significance, even as you revel in its laid-back charm.
Place du Jeu de Balle
In the heart of the Marolles district lies Place du Jeu de Balle, famous for its daily flea market where treasure hunters and bargain seekers rummage through antiques, vintage clothes, and bric-a-brac. The market has been a tradition since the 19th century and is an experience in itself.
- Mazette is a great brasserie/bar, with a huge back terrace. It is a brewery that runs as a cooperative, therefore, expect great beer, a chill vibe and friendly service!
- La Brocante is a great spot for a drink on the corner of the lively square and the vibrant Rue des Rendards shopping street. It has a great, festive atmopshere.
Place Jourdan
No visit to Brussels is complete without tasting its famous frites, and Place Jourdan is the mecca for this quintessentially Belgian treat. The smell of freshly fried potatoes from Maison Antoine, reputedly the best fritkot in town, is irresistible. The square is a convivial spot where locals and tourists alike gather, frites in hand, to engage in the simple pleasure of conversation, often with a side of gourmet sauces. Most of the bars in Jourdan let you bring in the fries from Maison Antoine – so grab a few cones, and expore!
