The tapas style menu is inventive and fresh. TERO prioritizes local foods and often updates their menu to reflect what is in season. A large portion of their food comes from Belgian farms they are heavily involved in, and that is reflected in the quality of the produce. In the vein of sustainability, the menu is very well suited for vegetarians and vegans, however there are meat and fish options as well.
The general atmosphere is trendy and hip (although “hip” is often an adjective saved for undecidedly unhip people), and the large, minorly loud space makes it just ok for an intimate date or conversation hidden amongst other restaurant goers just out of earshot.
While the concept of sharing small plates is cozy and romantic, between two people you are recommended 5-6 plates + drinks and dessert; that’s a whole lot of logistics and interruptions, necessary service. We enjoyed the meal and atmosphere but we weren’t totally convinced if the price matched the overall experience. If you can live with that, it’s a good place to spent the evening with friends, family, or your date.
- Trendy spot
- Great, tapas style sharing plates
- A bit overhyped, not totally worth the cost
